2009年春节联欢晚会
《世纪的风采- 中国2008》

2008年无论对旅居海外的华人华侨还是中国人民注定是不寻常的一年。在这一年
中国经历了年初的冰雪灾害即而是百年不遇的512文川大地震。中国人民万众一心众志成城在困难中崛起，战胜了一切无法想象的困难取得了举世瞩目的成绩。我们大华府地区的华人华侨在祖国面临困难的时候毫不犹豫的伸出我们的援助之手，总计募款超过四十万美元支援灾区。我们有理由为此而骄傲。同年北京2008年奥运会成功举办使北京奥运会成为奥运史上的无与伦比的盛会。我们也为我们的祖国和中国人民而骄傲。

2008年是值得纪念的一年；2008年是中美建交30年，是中国改革开放的30年，是恢复高考的30年。无论送哪个角度说2008年多是值得怀念的。

在2009年春节前夕大华府地区华人社团联合举办《世纪的风采-中国2008》春节联欢晚会庆祝中国春节。一如既往这场春节联欢晚会将由大华府地区的主要文艺团体联姻演出，其中包括了声乐，器乐，戏曲，舞蹈和相声等多种形式。《世纪的风采-中国2008》将由编导第九届中国文化界大型综艺演出《古韵雄风》和2008年春节联欢晚会《瑞雪迎春》的编导组执导。并形承了由各主要文艺演出团体的主要编导组成的最大的编导团队。《世纪的风采-中国2008》一方面将继续保留了《古韵雄风》和《瑞雪迎春》所体现的精美，艺术的整体性以及高科技的表现形式；另一方面将有更大的包容性，更好的东西方文化的融合。《世纪的风采-中国2008》将是大华府地区华人社团和文艺团体向主流社会和华人华侨献上的新春贺礼。让我们一起缅怀值得纪念的2008并举双手迎接新春的开始！

Spring Festival Gala
“Splendor of the Century - China 2008 “

To celebrate the Year of the Ox, the Chinese community will host the “Splendor of the Century – China 2008 Spring Festival Gala” at Strathmore Music Center on Sunday Jan. 18, 2009. Almost all the major Chinese American art organizations in the Washington DC area will come together to showcase their vocal, instrumental, dance, and acting talents for your enjoyment. The Gala will be directed by the same wonderful production group who brought you the 9th Chinese Cultural Festival and last year’s Spring Festival Gala. The showcase itself will inherit the artistic integrity and advanced digital technology you have previously enjoyed, integrating both the Eastern and Western cultures. Presenting the Gala to you as a gift from the Washington DC Chinese community, we hope you will come and join us to welcome the arrival of the New Year.
